County up for care award

Monmouthshire Beacon: 28 June 2007

Monmouthshire County Council has been announced as a finalist in this year's Social Care Accolades run by the Care Council for Wales.

The authority's Social Care Workforce Development Partnership (SCWDP) Management Board, has been short-listed in the Learning Together category, for its work to enhance the quality of training for carers, which it carries out with a range of partnerships, including the Newport-based Seren Group.

The Seren Group, comprising five member organisations, provide a wide-range of social care and housing services across South Wales.

One of those members is REACH Supported Living, which assists over 320 people with learning disabilities and the elderly to live as independently as possible.
