Welsh Housing Design Awards 2006

Cartref - December/January 2006/7

The Royal Society of Architects in Wales (RSAW) announced the winners of the second Welsh Housing Design Awards scheme at a ceremony in Swansea on Friday, 22 October. The awards are supported by the Welsh Assembly Government and the Design Commission for Wales, and were presented to the winners by Edwina Hart AM. Professor Malcolm Parry, presenter of several TV programmes on Welsh housing, hosting the awards ceremony said: “These awards show that housing has moved from the great unknown to centre stage. It's great to see so many wonderful schemes in Wales.” Two associations' schemes were successful:

In the Category for projects with up to 20 homes Dry Bridge Gardens, Monmouth was successful. It was designed by Ainsley Gommon Architects for Fairlake Properties (formerly Charter Housing Association).

In the Category for projects with over 20 homes Plas y Mor, Burry Port, designed by PCKO Architects for Tai Cartrefi was another winner.
