Unique Supported Living Scheme Opens in Newport

Cartref: May/June 2006

Unique Supp Living Scheme PicSeren Group recently opened Ty Nant, a unique development specifically designed to provide supported living services for tenants with autism and learning difficulties, in partnership with Newport City Council and the National Autistic Society.

Each of Ty Nant's six flats incorporates assistive technology to facilitate the specific needs of individual tenants, enabling them to live as independently as possible, featuring high ceilings, underfloor heating, wide corridors and areas where residents can mix on a communal basis. Amanda Davies, Chief Executive of the Seren Group, said: “Seren is totally committed to developing this type of practical partnership, bringing the strengths and skills of each organisation together. I really hope the tenants will enjoy living in their new homes.”
