Yob behaviour on agenda

South Wales Argus: 31 January 2006

Experts from across the UK attended a special conference yesterday to discuss how anti-social behaviour is tackled in Gwent.

The conference - a first of its kind in Wales and the idea of Newport-based Charter Housing Association's Nuisance Prevention Team - was opened by Wales minister for social justice and regeneration, Edwina Hart.

"Individuals should not have to live in fear of crime and anti-social behaviour," said Ms Hart.

The Welsh Assembly executive has set up and is funding anti-social behaviour action area pilot projects in Newport and Pontypool, as well as in Cardiff and Neath.
