Old Town Dock regeneration scheme, Newport
The redevelopment of the Old Town Dock area of Newport will be of the highest quality in terms of design and sustainability and will set a new standard for city centre living in Newport. The development consists of 101 homes comprising 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses and 1 and 2 bedroom apartments.
It is an aspiration for the Old Town Dock development to achieve at least Level 5 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. This is an ambitious target and there are only a small number of projects in England and Wales which have been able to achieve this standard.
This major regeneration project is being undertaken by Newport Unlimited on behalf of the land owners Newport City Council and the Welsh Assembly Government. Fairlake, part of the seren group, were chosen to work with Leadbitter, Newport Unlimited and Newport City Council to deliver an exemplar affordable housing scheme on a Riverfront site within the Northern Basin.
