<p>We have consolidated our support services into one team in order to take a more focussed and accountable approach to supporting our operational team. This is a new role with lots of scope to shape future direction, making it an exciting time to join us.</p>
<p>The new post-holder will be a senior member of the management team responsible for leading and working with a wide range of operational, support and administrative staff to lead and deliver effective systems, policies, procedures and information flows that are accessible and meaningful to management, staff and people we support. </p>
<p>We are looking for someone who has experience of working at a senior level to champion innovative person centred approaches to systems, policies and procedures and who is outstanding at team development as well as shaping direction. .</p>
<p>For this post you will need to have a full driving licence and access to a car for work.</p>

<p>You will lead support for people with learning disabilities as well as others who view their world uniquely (i.e. with autistic spectrum conditions and people whose behaviour challenges)  and should have experience of different approaches to working with people who need specially tailored support around these issues.  We work from a strong person centred position to provide support that is designed specifically for each person.</p>
<p>You will lead the team in developing and establishing services in partnership with people we support, families, health, social services and housing providers.</p>
<p>We are looking for someone who has experience of:</p>
<ul>
<li>Delivering, through person centred planning and individual service design, services tailored to meet the needs and aspirations of individuals, to enable them to do ordinary things in the community.</li>
<li>Leading and managing teams and individuals.</li>
</ul>
<p> You will also have:</p>
<ul>
<li> An NVQ level 4 (LMA) or equivalent, (or be willing to work towards achieving this by July 2012).</li>
<li>Knowledge and understanding of some of the key policy, legislative and contractual requirements in the provision of supported living services.</li>

<p>Steven is a 45 year old ex-international athlete who has cerebral palsy and lives in Swffryd near Crumlin.  He currently plays Boccia Ball and trains in Cardiff at the weekends.  Due to his success in the sport he also competes in events across the country and sometimes overseas.  Steven is looking to select a person who can work alternate Saturdays and the occasional Sunday to support him with his social activities.  In addition to Boccia Ball, Steven likes to go out for meals, watch sporting events, play ten pin bowling and go to the cinema.</p>

<p>Support is tailored to each and every individual and may include helping people to go shopping, prepare meals, participate in social, leisure and recreational activities and, in some cases, helping people with their personal care.</p>
<p>Working hours are varied and involve evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, as well as some night shifts, which can involve sleeping overnight at a person’s home (for which a sleep-in allowance is paid).</p>
